In the outskirts of the City of York there is a remarkable glamping accommodation that is perfectly placed to discover both the city itself and beyond. York Holiday and Cycle Stop.
The more I saw of this place the more I realised why so many reviews had voted it the LateRooms Best Countryside Hotel, a category that has much wonderful competition, it was time to find out more.
It is situated in a perfect spot in the countryside where you can get to the City of York very easily to see the sights. The Minster and all virtually on your doorstep. Yet direct from here you can enjoy the calm and beauty of the surrounding open fields and further. As IÂ drove in the well kept landscaped garden was eye catching straight away yet as I saw the pods I was taken aback at how much had gone into this place.
Much more than your average glamping or pod accommodation. Everything was set for people of all demographics, cyclists, weekenders, walkers and all, plus everything is set to ensure people enjoy their stay.
Value as well as top quality is how I can easily describe it. Within the pods themselves there is heating, insulation, kettle and all the all important free WIFI 🙂
If you don’t want to bring your own bedding you can also rent this for a little extra. Each pod has two single beds that can easily be made into a king size double.
People think of glamping as a Summer affair but York Holiday & Cycle Stop certainly proves that this kind of holiday can take place all year round.
For cyclists there is secure storage near the pods plus there is a communal space in the centre front of all the accommodation that is perfect for barbecues or a drink or a relax in the sun.
There are washrooms and utility rooms set perfectly with the accommodation. Every detail has been made with the comfort of the guests in mind.
In the reception area as well as within folders in each pod there is a huge wealth of things to discover during your stay. Transport links, walks with maps for all levels of ability, places of interest and much more. In fact, I have lived around York nearly a year now myself and I found so many more things to see and do I haven’t heard of just by being here and chatting to the hosts. The greeting you receive here is fantastic.
If you are ever in the area of York or passing through by car, foot or bicycle, I would highly recommend myself that you look at York Holiday & Cycle Stop. As many reviewers have stated, you won’t be disappointed.
