This Avocado Breakfast Burger is a creative and fun way to get a whole lot of goodness inside you to start the day. Of course you can easily follow this recipe to make for lunch too or any meal of the day.

Avocados are one of the best ingredients on a keto diet as they are packed with natural fats to keep you satiated but also contain plenty of healthy nutrients that the body needs.

Per 100g of avocado you only get around 2g of carbs which is fantastic for staying in ketosis without worrying but they provide lots of fibre as well as containing more potassium than a banana. In fact this whole dish comes under 5g carbs.

For this recipe I have kept it really simple with just a few ingredients that keto dieters will always normally have in stock at home. But of course you can add your own or get creative yourself.

I have stacked it with mayonnaise, bacon, and egg. If you want to add more to make a proper stacked burger you could add maybe a slice of lettuce, some red onion slices, a slice of tomato, the list goes on.

And of course you do not need to make it look like a burger for personal presentation, this is still a dish that requires a knife and fork. But I find the combination of flavours and goodness a dream alternative start to the day beyond a bulletproof keto coffee.

It is also a very quick dish to create so if you have the few ingredients you can be eating easily within 20 minutes or so,

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado

  • 1 tsp mayonnaise

  • 1 egg

  • 1 -2 rashers of bacon

  • 1 pinch sesame seeds

Directions

  • Fry the bacon and eggs in a frying pan
  • In the meantime slice the avocado through the middle lengthways
  • Remove the pit and carefully carve each half out of the skin
  • Spread mayonnaise on bottom half so you can start layering the burger up
  • Layer up the cooked bacon and egg
  • Place the top half on top
  • Sprinkle with a few sesame seeds to garnish

Notes

  • You can add your own ingredients for inside the burger for instance a lettuce leaf, tomato slice etc.
