The Roof Terrace at The Sloane Club, nestled in the heart of Chelsea, London is a beautiful sunlit deck. A quiet tranquil space to escape, relax and unwind above the busy streets.
So, after a morning of retail therapy on London’s Kings Road, my sister and I decided on a spot of lunch and a good catch up at the Sloane Club.
The Roof Terrace is reached by a grand old staircase and on arrival we were greeted warmly by our smiling host Pippi.
We were led across a pretty flower filled wooden deck to our fabulous table. The place setting was immaculate and soft chair blankets and plush velvet cushions added to the luxe feel.
The all-day menu is extensive and exciting and for a summer lunch we were craving light, fresh and lively flavors. We were certainly not disappointed.
I was tempted by the dressed Devon crab with mango and wasabi tobiko. This was deliciously soft, delicate and combined beautifully with the crunch of toasted soda bread.
My sister chose the burrata topped with picante cherry tomato compote and fig balsamic reduction. Described as luscious, creamy and perfect when scooped up with warm bread (yes, we are not ashamed to say we love our carbs!).
Main course was the stunning native lobster & tiger prawn brioche burger topped with avocado.
My sister plumped for the messy aromatic lemongrass chicken burger served with garlic aioli, pineapple salsa and spicy slaw.
We shared a side of wonderfully fragrant crisp truffle parmesan fries. This was all washed down with a chilled glass of Whispering Angel rose wine – wow what a feast!
But of course, “it ain’t over until the fat lady sings” and we treated ourselves to the Baileys ice cream chocolate bombe. A piece of theatre to watch as the chocolate sphere melted away under a pouring of hot toffee sauce.
Of course, we left a tiny amount of room to sample a cocktail to round things off. Sascha, our friendly and professional bartender, whipped up a sumptuous espresso martini and then we were reset and ready to hit the streets of Chelsea.
The entrance to the Sloane club is rather discreet because it is a private members club. However, you can book a table at The Roof Terrace to enjoy the first-class service and experience the exclusive vibe without the cost of a membership.
We plan to return soon as the restaurant features some interesting summer pop-ups. Currently partnering with No.3 Gin, featuring sexy cocktails such as St James Spritz, Sloane 75 and Champagne & Chelsea Bloom. Oh, and did I also mention you can listen to live music on a Sunday?
As a wine lover I was excited to hear that Whispering Angel were potentially the next summer pop-up and I will be following on Instagram for further news.
So, whether you are looking for outdoor dining and cocktails with girlfriends or a romantic meal in a cozy corner under twinkling lights as the sun goes down, you must visit The Roof Terrace at The Sloane Club!
